Dear Cancer Patients, Caregivers, Family and Friends:

Every year around this time, I find that the Holidays have crept up on me and I am trying to think of what to ‘buy’, what to ‘do’ and realize that I feel tired as well as overwhelmed. I feel like curling up in my pajamas and pulling the blankets over my head from Thanksgiving till New Year’s morning! I get tired of the early ‘shoppers’, tv ads, and other stresses and demands that I should be doing ‘something’ more. Some of you may be more organized and/or someone else in your family/work circle may have more energy and Spirit! Regardless, join us to share ideas and strategies to make the Holidays more fun, less work and an opportunity to ‘Celebrate’ our ‘cancer patient’ and ourselves !

We have a great seminar planned and want to conclude our Seminar Schedule for 2016 and have you help us plan for 2017!

Best Wishes,

Coping with Holiday Stress as a Caregiver

20151205_162451494_iOSChristmas is a normally stressful situation but as Cancer Caregivers it takes on an entirely new meaning. Hanging Christmas lights on your house seems frivolous compared to your loved ones health. We need to allow ourselves to release expectations of a ” perfect” holiday. Learn to enjoy a basic concept like sipping hot chocolate while listening to a Christmas carol on the radio. Instead of registering for a sweater post a “wish list” of home maintenance or doctor appointments someone can accompany you to on social media. Allow your friends & family to know what would really be appreciated this year. Allow them to LOVE you.

Snell & Wilmer is “On Fire” at Golf Charity Fundraiser

Snell & Wilmer dual foursomes were In-The-Zone at the 11th Annual Arizona Myeloma Network Golf Charity Fundraiser to support free Cancer education for Myeloma patients, their families and ALL cancer caregivers.

Scottsdale: Saturday, November 14, 2015 at McCormack Ranch Golf Club.

Christopher Colyer, Associate at Snell & Wilmer and honorary board member of Arizona Myeloma Network gathered six of his Snell & Wilmer colleagues and James Colyer to play 18 holes for charity Saturday. Winning best score and 6 yard putting contest they were In-the-Zone!

“It is great to be here and support a small non-profit that does so much,” said Christopher Colyer, who assists clients with transactional and litigation issues in the areas of environmental, real estate, construction and administrative law. “Upcoming Arizona Myeloma Network events include a Cancer Caregivers ReUnion Celebration on December 5, 2015, and the 10th Annual Myeloma Scientific Research Roundtable and Living with Myeloma Conference in March 2016.”

Barbara Kavanagh, President and CEO of Arizona Myeloma Network, a 2014 Top-Rated NonProfit by Great Nonprofits, is honored to have the support of Chris Colyer and William Mulholland, II, Partner at Snell & Wilmer. “We are a small non-profit doing what no one else does. Snell & Wilmer sees the immediate and positive impact we have on cancer patients in the community. That is what makes this relationship so special to us,” Barbara states.

“The more money we raise, the more free face-to-face educational outreach we do to increase the quality of life for people impacted by cancer in our communities. Our mission is to educate Myeloma patients, ALL cancer caregivers and their families at no charge to them. Myeloma is a complex and often misdiagnosed cancer of bone marrow plasma cells that attacks and destroys the bone. Cancer patients live with Myeloma because there is no cure…yet. “
